Janelle Barfield, M.D., FAAP
Janelle Haynes Barfield, M.D. is a Board Certified Pediatrician and owner of Growing Together Pediatrics. Dr. Barfield received her Bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University and went on to complete her medical degree at the University of Florida in 2006. She specialized in pediatrics right here in Orlando at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital residency program. Dr. Barfield has been practicing in private practice in Central Florida since 2009.
Dr. Barfield enjoys the many challenges of caring for children, taking a special interest in allergies, asthma, ADHD, and acne. She strives to use evidence based medicine, mixed with experience, and parental intuition to care for her patients. As a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics she stays informed of the latest medical guidelines, research, and medications to provide excellent current care.
On a personal note, Dr. Barfield spent most of her childhood in Northern Virginia. When she is not busy caring for her patients, she enjoys traveling and time with her husband and daughter. Dr. Barfield is a resident of Belle Isle and she is excited to have the opportunity to serve the children of her community!

Amy A. Lucier, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Lucier has special interests in kidney diseases, including hematuria and proteinuria. During her downtime, she enjoys the beach, her husband, and playing with her cats.
Julia De La Cruz Pena, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Pena was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She attended medical school at Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, UASD, in the Dominican Republic where she graduated with honors. She then completed her residency in pediatrics at John Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. Dr. Pena is a board-certified pediatrician, and she is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Pena always wanted to help and serve others since she was a child. She discovered her love for pediatrics very early in medical school. It's a joy for her to be able to help children and families and she does it with so much love and dedication. She strongly believes in prevention practice and education.
Dr. Pena loves spending time with her husband and 5-year-old son. She enjoys spending time outside in nature and sharing with family and friends
Sheydy Rodriguez, M.D.
Dr. Sheydy Rodriguez was born and raised in a small town in the south of Puerto Rico. She attended college at the University of Puerto Rico and went on to complete her medical degree at the UAG School of Medicine in 2002. Dr. Rodriguez completed her pediatric residency at San Lucas Hospital in 2006. After graduation she worked in a pediatric office for several years and then in 2013 decided to relocate with her family to Central Florida to practice in primary care pediatrics.
As a physician, Dr. Rodriguez strives to integrate the physical, mental and emotional well being of her patients in every stage of their development. She strongly believes that early detection and prevention of illnesses is the key to healthy and happy children.
Ruben Guadalupe, M.D.
Dr. Guadalupe was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He attended Syracuse University, went on to the Universidad Central del Caribe Medical School and completed his residency in Ponce, Puerto Rico at the Hospital Episcopal San Lucas. Dr. Guadalupe has a special interest in pediatric cardiology, plus he is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Guadalupe loves spending time with his wife, cooking, and playing video games.

Astrid M. Chabert, M.D.
Dr. Chabert was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She received her bachelor's degree in 2001 from the University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras, and her medical doctorate in 2005 from the University of Puerto Rico – Medical Sciences Campus. She completed a pediatrics specialty at Baystate Medical Center – Tufts University, Springfield, MA in 2008. Dr. Chabert is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and after practicing in Massachusetts, Texas, and Arizona, is proud to call Orlando her home. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Dr. Chabert approaches her patients as if they were part of her own family. A mother herself, she recognizes the need to approach her patients in a rounded manner, focusing on easing the mind as much as healing the body.
When she is not working, Dr. Chabert enjoys baking, cooking, crafts, and hitting the beach with her husband and two children.
Jessica A. Pierre, M.D.
Dr. Pierre was born in Manhattan, NY and raised in New York and Massachusetts. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology then attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where she received her medical degree in 2015. Dr. Pierre completed her pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania, one of the top-rated hospital systems in the country. She is a board-certified pediatrician.
Dr. Pierre is passionate about partnering with families to promote healthy development in children. She has special interests in preventative care, advocacy, and mission work. She has participated in mission trips to Haiti, China as well as urban missions right here in the U.S.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and children.
Nayer Canton, M.D.
Dr. Canton is from Jacksonville, FL. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Florida in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Canton earned her medical degree in 2015 from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. She completed her residency in 2018 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and has practiced in Georgia and Orange City, Florida. Dr. Canton is a board-certified pediatrician.
When she’s not working Dr. Canton enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music and visiting our national parks.
Teresa Truong, DNP, CPNP-PC
Teresa Truong, DNP, CPNP-PC, is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner with a specialty in pediatric primary care. She moved to Florida from Michigan in 2001 and spent four years as a Registered Nurse on a pediatric unit at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville. Her experience there solidified her love for preventative care and desire to positively impact her patients at all the important stages of their lives. Teresa went on to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree from the University of Florida, specializing in pediatric primary care. She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Teresa is fluent in Vietnamese.
As a provider, Teresa is passionate about building relationships, and partnering with parents and families to ensure their children are living happy, healthy lives, and able to reach their full potential.
In her free time Teresa enjoys living an active lifestyle, cooking new recipes, spending time with family, and traveling. She’s happy to call Orlando home, is excited to join the Growing Together Pediatrics team and can’t wait to meet you and your family!
Leah Warren, APRN, PPCNP-BC
Leah Warren, APRN, PPCNP-BC is a board certified pediatric primary care nurse practitioner. She was born in Colorado but raised nearby in Ormond Beach, FL. She attended the University of Florida for both undergrad and Masters in the accelerated BSN-MSN program, and has practiced in Jacksonville, Maitland, and Orlando.
Leah has been on mission trips to Malawi, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Honduras to help medical and anti-trafficking organizations. Ethiopia has a special place in her heart as two of her children were born there. She has always felt a calling to pediatrics and to the hope and resiliency found in young people. Leah is passionate about empowering each next generation and their families to take charge of their own health and wellbeing, and to use their voice in making educated decisions for themselves.
Leah has kids ages 17-10! In her spare time, she loves to read, write, laugh, and be outdoors, especially on the water. She loves to hike, water-ski, and paddleboard with friends and family.
